Men's Shed provides a mower that cannot be started

A lot of time at the Umina Beach Men's Shed is spent with mowers and whipper snippers, for their spark to get them fired up and running, according to Shed secretary Mr Vic Brown.

But when the dementia team at the Peninsula Village asked for a mower that couldn't be started, the Men's Shed took up the challenge.

The village was looking for a mower with no cylinder compression, no spark, no sharp edges or blades.

The fuel tank needed to be cleaned out and sealed, and comprehensively cleaned and detailed.

Mr Brown said an old retired mower had a rework and a facelift and is off for new life at the Village.

Shed treasurer Mr Bill Stedman is pictured delivering the mower to the Village.
