Wharf construction resumes for new year

Construction of the new Woy Woy wharf will start again this week, after a break over Christmas and New Year.

Construction of the wharf stopped on December 23 and was due to start again today, Monday, January 11.

While the wharf remained closed to commercial ferry services, it was made available to recreational boat users.

So far, new piles and capping beams have been installed for the wharf and a new rock revetment built on Brisbane Water Dr.

The new wharf design features a floating pontoon that will move with the varying tides and ensure access to ferry services and facilities in most tide and weather conditions.

This project has received $3.99million in State Government funding and is expected to be completed by July.
