Information centre receives level two accreditation
The visitor information centre at Ettalong Diggers has been awarded Level Two Accreditation.
The new status is recognition of Ettalong and the Peninsula as major tourism destinations, said centre tourism administrator Ms Kim Cole.
"We are extremely proud of our new status that we have worked so hard to achieve over the last four years," she said.
"Many benefits come with being awarded level two status including direction road signed on major intersections and motorways approaching Ettalong Beach."
The signs were expected to be installed next year.
The centre will also be able to display the official visitor information centre logo, a blue sign with a yellow italic i.
"Only fully Accredited Visitor Information Centres can display this logo, which is overseen by The Tourism Group and Destination NSW."
The Centre is funded by the Ettalong Diggers Club.
Ms Cole said it was the vision of Diggers chief executive Mr Bill Jackson who believed that the tourism industry on the Peninsula needed a helping hand, with visitor information available at Ettalong.
She said part of the Visitor information Centre role was helping promote small business at no cost.
Ms Cole said the centre encouraged all local businesses to make contact with her at the centre.
