Why won't government finish underpass job?
The wonderful news about the State Government's reversal on Wyong Hospital got me thinking what about a reversal on the Bulls Hill rail underpass for those of us on the Peninsula.
The Berejiklian Government proudly boasts about a $4 billion surplus, some of which came from stamp duty of property sales on the Central Coast, yet they will not honour their commitment to the rail underpass for us on the Peninsula.
Woy Woy Rd is the gateway to the Peninsula and is used by many thousands of commuters every day to go to work and pay their taxes.
Why is it then that the government will not finish the job they started on the underpass?
This bit of infrastructure is vital to the future of those living in this part of the coast.
There have been fatalities on the rail crossing and it seems incomprehensible to me that the government will not support this project.
Already many millions of dollars have been spent preparing for this project to proceed; what an indictment on a government that prides itself in building infrastructure for the future of this state.
The Peninsula is part of this state.
I hope that the Parliamentary Secretary for the Central Coast and the Member for Gosford get together and reverse the decision about the underpass for the safety of all who currently have to make the crossing every day and for the future of the Peninsula and this region.
