Peninsula residents Geoff and Norma Turner were presented with State Government Community Service Awards at the Seniors Week Concert held at Ettalong Beach War Memorial Club on March 19.
Member for Gosford Ms Marie Andrews hosted the 14th annual concert and said the event was once again popular.
"Mr and Mrs Turner, two wonderful locals, are very worthy recipients of the NSW Government's Community Service Award," Ms Andrews said.
"Mr Geoff Turner has 40 years involvement in Central Coast Swimming and Woy Woy Swimming Club.
"Mr Turner joined Umina Neighbourhood Watch in 1989
"As well as holding the position of coordinator for some time, he has been the treasurer for the past 10 years.
"Mr Turner is very involved in the Central Coast and Brisbane Waters Branches of the World War II Veterans Associations and is actively involved in the Grandfriends program at Umina Public School.
"Mrs Norma Turner has also been heavily involved with the Woy Woy Swimming Club and Central Coast Swimming for 40 years.
"Mrs Turner has strongly supported her husband Geoff in his many community roles."
