Stories about medals wanted

Peninsula News is running a competition to uncover the medals in our community and the stories behind them.

As part of a national competition supported by the RSL we want you to tell us about the medals in your possession - from the stories about your relatives' service, through to your chance discovery of hidden treasure or your challenges as a collector.

Simply write a short story and send it to us at Peninsula News Where Have All the Medals Gone Competition, PO Box 532, Woy Woy, 2256.

Photographs of you or your family with the medals are also welcome.

We will publish selected entries and all entries will be eligible to win a fantastic Sands of Gallipoli limited edition commemorative set valued at $195.

The limited edition set is part of the 2009 Sands of Gallipoli range of collector's items containing six replica medallions depicting the prominent medals awarded to our Diggers in the Gallipoli campaign.

All items in the collection come with a small vial of sand collected from the landing beaches at Gallipoli.
