Fluoride cover-up?
I refer to the article headlined "Fluoride farce" published in the Express Advocate on Friday, August 26.
The headline more accurately should have read "Fluoride cover-up".
From information available, Mr Edward James of Umina has repeatedly informed Gosford councillors and relevant authorities that the fluoridated water piped to the Gosford and Peninsula areas was at a rate in excess of the levels reported in the article.
Do they also acknowledge that a pipeline exists over the Rip Bridge that could be supplying fluoridated water to that area of the Peninsula?
Not to inform the residents that fluoridated water is being consumed by children when parents could also be giving them fluoride tablets is a monumental health issue and of major concern to parents.
This is whether the supply is over 180 days or not.
Even after receiving written complaints together with complaints about lack of action, Gosford councillors and management still hide behind "I don't recall anyone telling us about it".
It is about time the appropriate authorities took immediate action to remove the systemic problems of this much complained-about council.
