Capture deer

As soon as an exotic animal surfaces, like the deer at Empire Bay and environs, the do-gooders want to shoot or poison them.

These animals should be captured for tourism or, if suitable, for meat production.

Cattle and sheep cause more damage to water quality and native fauna than deer could ever dream of.

But cattle and sheep have a monetary value. Wild animals, with the exception of the roo, have none so they can safely be got rid of, say our bureaucratic bosses.

In my view, the treatment of any animal as a degraded subspecies only fit for extermination is Hitlerism.

If animals are treated as such, it is not a far step to treat humans the same.

Dr Schweitzer and Ghandi summed it up: Reverence for Life.
