Eye disease topic for lecture

Brisbane Waters Private Hospital will present the first of a series of community lectures this Thursday.

Eye surgeon Dr James Chen will give a presentation about the treatment of eye disease at 7pm at the Central Coast Leagues Club.

The lecture will focus on new technology used by Dr Chen to fight common eye diseases.

Dr Chen specialises in small incision suture-less cataract surgery, vitero-retinal surgery and glaucoma disease treatment.

Glaucoma, cataracts and muscular degeneration are the cause of more than 80 per cent of blindness, he said.

The lectures are open to the public and are free of charge.
