Handcraft class supports charity

Kids with Arthritis was one of the charities that the at the Ettalong Senior Citizens Centre Tuesday handcraft class chose to support recently.

the chief executive of Arthritis Foundation of NSW Mr Philip Hopkin travelled from Parramatta on Tuesday, May 10, to be presented with a large quantity of hand-knitted items, including wheelchair rugs, scarves, beanies and toys made by the women in the class.

The class also presented a $100 cheque to the Kidsfliks program at Erina so that children and their carers could go to the movies together.

The group will also donate a similar quantity of bed rugs and toys to Camp Quality later in the year.

Organiser Ms Glad Ryan said all materials to produce these items were supplied and donated by members.

"A truly wonderful effort by a group of grandmothers and great grandmothers," Ms Ryan said.
