Christmas trees in high demand

The Rotary Club of Woy Woy sold the last of its batch of Christmas trees early yesterday morning.

The trees which have been on sale over two weekends were in high demand.

The club sold 158 trees and 27 stands on the first weekend, with a turnover of more than $22,000.

"Half of this, after costs, will go to Grandparents Raising Grandkids and the other half will be distributed to Peninsula charities and causes," said club president Mr Tom McCann.

The club only had about 100 more trees to sell this weekend.
