Planning for extreme weather?
Was the Peninsula Urban Directions Strategy, at best, a glorified coffee table adornment?
Did it provide examples of future development to withstand extreme weather events or was it a budget action to sway the public to believe there was action to enhance sustainability?
Does the proposed development at 43-46 The Esplanade, Ettalong, include actions to protect the construction for its entire asset life or will it require frequent "adjustments" and costly actions to keep the residents "on side" as conditions on the waterfront deteriorate in the years ahead?
Did the Strategy forewarn of the problems ahead or was there priority to support Peninsula development and growth ignoring increasing problems?
Ettalong waterfront in the future will receive increased investigation as coastal processes change.
It will be a hive of activity.
