Children learn what to do if they get lost

Preschool children in Booker Bay have learnt what to do if they get lost.

This was among the topics discussed by Gosford police liaison officer Constable Dan McArthur and his colleague when they visited the school on Thursday, May 13.

They also learnt about how to recognise police officers, who to call when in danger, and about road and car safety.

"The children showed great excitement to look and explore the officers' gear," said Booker Bay Pre-school owner Ms Rhonda Waters.

"The children tried on the officers' vests, utility belts, hats, and explored the walkie talkies and hand cuffs.

"We loved exploring and learning important safety with the police officers today."

"We sat inside the police car.

"The children were so excited to investigate and explore inside the police car - the radio, overhead speaker and all the buttons and screens inside.

"They held the 'go go bags' and learnt the importance of the bags and what they were for.

"They held the road sign but their favourite part was listening to the sirens."
