Surf club holds Nipper presentations

Umina Surf Life Saving Club held its 2019 Nippers Presentation on April 28.

The annual event celebrates the efforts of Nippers each season and sees exceptional performers honoured for their hard work throughout the year.

Several awards were handed out at the ceremony which was attended by Nippers, their friends and family and other club members.

Max Bush and Marli Hoyland, both from the Under 9's, were named the Junior Point Score Champions and the Under 9's Age Champions.

Ebony Rayner (Under 14's) and Davara Marshall (Under 13's) were named the Joint Senior Girls Point Score Champions.

Ebony was also named Junior Club Person of the Year, whilst Davara also received the inaugural Carl Krucler Pool Rescue Competitor of the Year Award and was also named the club's Carnival Competitor of the Year.

Finlay Healey (under 14's) and Jed Hoyland (Under 13's) were named the Joint Senior Boys Point Score Champions.

The result also saw Ebony and Finlay and Davara and Jed named the Under 14's and Under 13's Age Champions respectively.

Jack Wiseman-Young was named Rookie of the Year.

Bronte Scahill and Kaiyan Sinclar were named the Under 10's Age Champions.

Ronnie Jordan and Catherine Kearney were named the Under 11's Age Champions.

Nicholas Kearney and Sienna Sinclair were the Under 12's Age Champions.

The club also took the time to celebrate its Nippers who earned State Titles throughout the 2018-19 season, which included: Sophia Grey, Beth Rodham, Leah Cookman and Lani Moore (Under 11's Girls Beach Relay NSW Champions); Sienna Scahill (Under 12's 2km Beach Run NSW Champion), Mikayley Fisher and Davara Marshall (Under 13's Girls Board Rescue NSW Champions); State Pool Rescue Medalists, Cashar Darwin (Under 12's), Nicholas Kearney (Under 12's), Ebony Rayner, Mikayley Fisher, Ellena Grey (Under 13's), Sienna Sinclair (Under 12's), Sienna Scahill (Under 12's), Davara Marshall and Ella Yates (Under 13).

The club also named its Junior Captains for the 2019/20 season with the honours going to Davara Marshall and Archie Rayner.

The club's Mr Harold Marshall and Ms Alli Hoyland also picked up the Age Managers Team of the Year Award for their efforts with the club's Under 13's Nippers.

The presentation concluded with a special mention to the Under 14's who ended their run as Nippers and will move into the Opens age bracket from next season after nine years with the club.
