Council to demolish after-school care building

Central Coast Council has given itself permission to demolish the old Coast Community Connections Before and After School Care building at 91 McMasters Rd, Woy Woy.

The building has been closed for about four years due to its condition and asbestos findings.

The land is zoned RE1 Public Recreation and Council said it understood that Coast Community Connections intended to build on the site again with funds from grants.

It would apply to council for development consent for a new community facility in the near future.

Waste material from the demolition will be collected and disposed of by Bliss Demolition of Somersby.

The estimated cost of demolition is $30,000.

The estimated area of bonded or friable asbestos material that will be disturbed was marked as the entire building.
