Troubadour to host gypsy jazz-makers

The Troubadour Folk Club will host gypsy jazz-makers, the Mimosa Duo, at St Luke's Church Woy Woy for the club's next feature concert from 7pm on May 25.

Club president Mr Michael Fine said Mimosa was a highly-accomplished duo from the Central Coast with Morgan Haselden on guitar and Phoebe O'Shea on violin and vocals.

"Their music is a unique and colourful collage of gypsy jazz with classy servings of French parlour, Argentinian tango, Celtic rhythms, Cuban son and classical music," Mr Fine said.

"Both trained at the Sydney Conservatorium in classical music but have been making their own way since graduation.

"As well as living and performing in France and searching for the heart of Gypsy Jazz, they have toured all over Australia and New Zealand."
