Young, black and ready for school
Woy Woy South Public School has hosted the 2018 Young Black and Ready for School program.
The program is a new initiative of the NSW Department of Education to help indigenous families with children starting school in 2019 maximise their child's transition from preschool and homecare to the public school system.
Families from across the Peninsula were invited to attend on November 22 and celebrate the milestone that is a child's start to school.
"Our local aboriginal kindergarteners for 2019 came to enjoy a morning filled with our elders telling stories and schools running a range of traditional activities," said principal Mr Matt Barr.
