Rooster does not cause sunrise
I refer to your article on floodplain risk management in Peninsula News, June 27.
Gosford Council endorsed my s149 certificate as being Bushfire Prone Land on October 31, 2006.
After I wrote 18 letters over two years Gosford Council rescinded this wrong embargo, plus all of Boyd Close and Skiff Place properties.
Having survived the bushfires, Gosford Council's letter, of May 7 last year, endorsed my s149 certificate to state that by 2100 the sea level rise "may be" "potentially" up to 0.9 metres.
The Bureau of Meteorology National Tidal centre has recorded the yearly sea levels measured at Fort Denison from 1914 to 2009.
In this period the sea level has risen from 1.35m to 1.42m, that is seven centimetres.
Gosford Council believe in the next 90 years our sea level "may" rise by 90cm, that is 13 times more.
Gosford Council refuses to base its tidal guesses on this factual regional evidence.
The request in my six letters to Gosford Council to remove the s149 certificate endorsement has been refused.
The tidal rise speculation is a spin off from global warming, oops climate change, which we are told is due to atmospheric carbon dioxide.
There is no proof that carbon dioxide, essential for all plant life, causes global warming.
Both are variables, but the interrelationship is wrongly used to justify massive new taxation.
The rooster crows every morning before the sun rises but that does not prove that the rooster causes the sun to rise.
Carbon dioxide is 0.04 per cent of the earth's atmosphere.
Only three per cent of this carbon dioxide is produced by mankind, of which Australia's global proportion is 1.3 per cent.
Any reduction in Australia's carbon dioxide is globally miniscule and its affect on climate unproven.
Remember the Year 2000 bug when aircraft would fall from the sky?
Remember when our adverse weather was due to the French Pacific atom bomb tests?
