Get rid of the factions
Pundits claim that the ALP should become more right or more left.
Neither more democratic.
During the Whitlam era, there was a brief flirtation with democracy in NSW where the rank and file actually got a vote.
Senator Faulkner and Foreign Minister Rudd have got it right: Get rid of the factions.
The factions breed power seekers, jobs for the boys and girls, corruption, spin doctors, all the worst you could expect.
Just examine the recent NSW Government - run by two men.
This hasn't happened since the 1930s and Jack Lang.
At least Jack Lang was Premier.
