Rotary outlines its plans
Woy Woy Rotary Club has outlined its plans for the coming year.
The year will start with the sale of daffodils for the Cancer Council at the Woy Woy Railway Station on August 20.
"Last year the club raised $1000 thanks to the many local commuters who put their hands into their pockets to assist this very worthwhile cause," said Rotarian Mr John Greenway.
"During September, the club will assist at the Flora Festival directing visitors to parking areas," said the club's 54th president, Lee Spencer.
"October will be a busy month, kicking off with the return of Spikefest.
"Last year, the club donated $500 to Rotary Mental Health from the sausage sizzle it ran.
"It will follow up with assisting Ocean Planet in the Oyster Festival Kayak Challenge.
"The end of the month will find members selling tickets for the Melbourne Cup Trifecta.
"This project has been going for many years with all proceeds going to local charities.
"The year 2005 will be the Century of Rotary, and the Woy Woy Club would like to extend the hand of fellowship to any service minded person on the Peninsula who would be interested in becoming a Rotarian.
