Soup Kitchen Lunch to raise money for food pantries

The Deepwater branch of the Older Women's Network will be hosting a Soup Kitchen Lunch on Saturday, August 2, to raise money for three local food pantries.

The event will start at noon at the Ettalong Seniors Centre on the corner of Broken Bay Rd and Karingi St, with doors opening at 11:30am for check-in and a glass of champagne.

Speakers from Peninsula food pantries, Meals-on-Wheels, Hope and Meals Dinner at 6 Program and the Ettalong 50+ Leisure and Learning Centre will speak about their services.

The Madeline Stephenson Tap Dance Troupe will open the event.

The lunch will include homemade soup with freshly baked bread rolls and butter, followed by scones, jam and cream.

Water and fruit juice will be available, and tea and coffee will be served with the scones.

The Troubadour Folk Club will provide music and entertainment throughout the afternoon.

There will also be raffles and a lucky door prize.

The entry cost is $25 per person.

For further information and bookings, contact branch secretary Ms Jennifer Brown by phone on 0417 205 377 or email to jennib35@gmail.com.

The Older Women's Network, Deepwater, belongs to a national group which advocates for the rights, dignity and wellbeing of older women.
