Life savers help swimmers during surfing holiday
Two Umina surf life savers have gone to the assistance of swimmers in difficulty during their holiday in Thailand.
Marli and Shane Hoyland went surfing during their holiday.
While out surfing, Marli, an under-15 Umina Surf Life Saving Club member, heard a woman calling for help.
She paddled to a rip that was pulling the English woman out to sea.
Marli also spotted the woman's father in distress.
A jet ski eventually came to assist him, asking Marli to keep a girl safe on her board until they returned.
Meanwhile, Shane, an age manager and bronze medallion patrol member at Umina, helped the girl's two brothers caught in the rip, bringing them back to shore.
