Storytime group meets
A Young Parent Storytime group will be held on Thursday, August 11, to help parents under 25 help their children and enjoy stories and become good readers.
The group will be run by Beachside Family Centre from 10am to 11:30am, in the grounds of Umina Public School.
"Storytime is more than just reading books - it's about craft and songs and even making your own books about your own child using photos," said centre facilitator Ms Debbie Notara.
"It's never too early to start with babies and toddlers when it comes to reading.
"But it helps to know all different ways to tell stories and how to have fun at the same time as helping children learn," said Ms Notara.
