Help sought with missing man

Police are appealing for help to find a man who has been missing from his Woy Woy home since January this year.

John Edward French, 58, was believed to have left his home around January 12, destination unknown.

Inquiries by detectives from the Brisbane Water Local Area Command revealed Mr French was a quiet person who lived alone and kept to himself.

Police said Mr French was an enthusiastic member of a model boat club, but members have not seen or heard from him since early January.

Police and Mr French's family held grave concerns for his welfare.

They have told police it was out-of-character for him to disappear.

Police are keen to hear from any members of the public who might have spoken with Mr French over the past few months.

In particular, police would like to hear from any person who might have had civil or legal dealings with Mr French in the months leading up to his disappearance, or since January.

Anybody with information should contact Gosford Police Station on 4323 5599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
