Famous painted bus shelter slated for demolition

One of The Bays area's famous painted bus shelters has been slated for demolition by Central Coast Council.

The Bays Community Group has been told that the bus shelter in Banyo Close, near the intersection of Woy Woy Rd, "isn't actually a bus stop".

Council staff have told the committee that the old timber bus shelter is "in a state of disrepair" and also "in the wrong location".

The actual bus stop is just around the corner in Woy Woy Rd.

The committee has been told the old bus shelter cannot be relocated due to its condition. The Council plan is to erect a new bus shelter at the existing bus stop in Woy Woy Rd.

The committee has been told discussions will take place with residents near the bus stop about the erection of a new bus shelter.
