School adopts Sentral parent portal
Umina Beach Public School is adopting the Sentral Parent Portal to communicate with parents.
"It is a strategic school goal for us to ensure that our parents feel informed and connected to the school as well as confident participants in their child's learning journey," said principal Ms Karen Wardlaw.
The school launched the portal on Thursday, March 2.
"Parents should have received an email with instructions on how to access the parent portal," said Ms Wardlaw.
"This email contains a Family Key which is a unique access code for your family to use and a link to the Parent Portal Console page, so that you can sign up and download our free school app.
"The Sentral Parent Portal lets parents to stay informed with school news broadcasts and receive notices, reminders, photos and attachments from the school your child's teacher."
They may also view the school calendar, access newsletters, browse school documents and resources, and receive reports electronically.
It allows messages to be sent to teachers and to book and manage parent-teacher interviews.
"Parents are required to set their own password for the portal.
"Passwords are not provided by the school.
"We will continue to use Skoolbag until all our families are linked up to the parent portal," Ms Wardlaw said.
She said use of the new portal was a result of the Tell Them From Me parent survey.
"You've told us you'd like more streamlined information channels and, ideally, you'd like to access information all from one place."
