Parents' association seeks members
Woy Woy South Public School Parents' and Citizens' Association is seeking members ahead of its annual general meeting this month.
"The P/C aims to promote the interests of the school by working closely with parents, citizens, students and teaching staff," said association president Ms Sarah Stewart.
"We hold monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each month.
"Meetings are a great place to hear about, and get involved with, fundraising for the school.
"You will also hear about what's going on in the canteen and uniform shop, both of which are run by the P/C."
Principal Mr Matt Barr attends most meetings or sends a representative to provide a Principal's report.
"This is a good way to be in the know about up and coming school news.
"There are many ways you can get involved with the P/C.
"You don't have to come to the meetings.
"As a member, you will get the minutes of each meeting emailed to you and be added to the P/C Members Facebook group.
"If you do come to the meetings, you don't have to do anything.
"Come along to meet other parents from the school community.
"You will get the opportunity to vote on the decisions made by the P/C and can contribute to the conversations if you wish.
"You can put your hand up to help out at one of our fundraisers or events.
"You don't have to take on a specific role to get involved.
"You might like to be part of one specific event or take on a regular task.
"You can become a member of the executive team, who hold various positions such as president, vice-president, treasurer, secretary, uniform shop coordinator, canteen convenor or social media co-ordinator.
"These positions will be elected at our annual general meeting in March or whenever a position becomes or remains vacant."
