Electoral Commissioner to conduct council elections
Central Coast Council will contract for the NSW Electoral Commissioner "to administer all elections of the Council".
It will also "administer all council polls of the Council" and "all constitutional referenda of the
Council".
The resolution confirmed the council's intention to conduct a referendum for a reduction of councillor numbers from 15 to nine at elections in September 2024.
A council staff report stated: "If Council does not resolve to engage the NSWEC to administer its elections by March 13, it must engage another electoral services provider to do so."
