Solar upgrade is completed

A solar energy project which provides shaded carparking in Woy Woy has been completed.

In total, 768 solar photovoltaic panels have been installed to the shade structures at Deepwater Plaza shooping centre to generate about 253 MWh per annum, according to centre manager Ms Marcelle Proper,

She said the project would reduce the shopping centre's use of grid-purchased electricity and associated carbon emissions.

Supplying the centre with renewable energy supported the centre's sustainability goals, she said.

"Shoppers can now enjoy shade to over 100 car spaces in the Coles car park off Charlton St along with resurfacing improvements and line marking, extending to George St and the ground level of the multi-deck car park.
