Surfing coach wins award

A surfing coach who grew up in Umina has won the Coach of the Year award at the 2020 Australian Surfing Awards.

Glenn Hall runs his own surf coaching business, Micro Surf Academy, and has also taught surfing locally through a local surf school.

Glenn broke into the World Surf League's Championship Tour at the relatively advanced age of 31.

He has coached "big names" like Matt Wilkinson, Own Wright, Tyler Wright and Ace Buchan and has started his own development team.
