Rotary club makes donations to regional charities
The Rotary Club of Brisbane Water has made donations of money and of clothes to two regional charities.
The club's board of directors has agreed to donate $600 to crisis accommodation organisation Coast Shelter.
The money will be split between the Woy Woy Youth Cottage and Neleh House.
The youth cottage provides temporary accommodation and support to homeless young women and men aged between 14 and 20.
Neleh House is a women's and children's refuge in Woy Woy, which provides crisis accommodation and support to single women and women with children.
The Rotary Club has also collected clothing and children's items for the We Care Connect program, which supports vulnerable children.
"We are taking these items of cots, prams, bikes, books and clothes to their warehouse in Wyong next week," said club president Mr Peter Mote.
Mr Mote said that the club was doing what it could to help the community throughout the current state of lockdown.
"We are trying hard not to be restricted in our work by the current Covid-19 health response," Mr Mote said.
