Rotary club holds 14th Opera in the Arboretum

The Rotary Club of Woy Woy will hold its 14th Opera in the Arboretum on March 16.

This year's event sees a mix of Australian and international opera stars taking to the stage, said organiser Mr John Greenway.

He said international tenor Rosario La Spina would top the bill, with mezzo-soprano Millijana Nikolic and soprano Antoinette Halloran heading the female performers.

Young baritone Christopher Tonkin would appear for the first time, he said.

"These stars will be supported by the Central Coast Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Patrick Brennan," Mr Greenway said.

"The orchestra has played for the event for the past 12 years and we welcome them back to accompany the artists and play some wonderful pieces.

"Pianist Francis Greep and guitarist Giuseppe Zangari will enhance the event.

"This is the Rotary Club of Woy Woy's biggest charity fund raiser."

He said that money raised would go to the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Fairhaven, Coast Shelter and the Central Coast Conservatorium.

Tickets are available through the Pearl Beach Opera website.
