CWA members 'deconstruct' wedding gowns

Members of the Woy Woy branch of the Country Women's Association have "deconstructed" 45 wedding dresses for an Australian charity helping grieving young families.

"Our president, Jane, is a volunteer seamstress for Angel Gowns Australia," said branch publicity officer, Ms Emily Bowtell.

"Angel Gowns is a not-for-profit which, utilising donated wedding dresses, creates beautiful Angel Gown garments for families who have sadly had a baby pass away.

"They aim to be able to one day gift an Angel Gown to every family when they lose a baby or young child.

"After being introduced to this wonderful cause by Jane, we decided to request Angel Gowns send us some wedding dresses.

"They obliged and yesterday we managed to deconstruct 45 wedding dresses.

"These dresses will now make their way to volunteer seamstresses across the country to be turned into beautiful Angel Gowns," Ms Bowtell said.
