Students speak on multiculturalism
Four students from Ettalong Public School have competed in the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition held in Terrigal in June.
Aiden Dunne and Josh Winstanley represented Ettalong in the junior section, while Aviana Alipate and Vivienne Randall represented the school in the senior section.
"All children made us proud with Aviana taking out third place and Viv being declared the overall senior champion," said principal Ms Lynn Balfour.
The competition has been encouraging primary school students to explore ideas of multiculturalism in Australia, as well as giving them a place to practice their public speaking skills and improve their confidence for the past 23 years.
