Soccer teams suffer defeats

Pretty Beach Public School's soccer teams have suffered defeats in Round 2 of the PSSA Soccer Knockout Competition and Gala Day.

"Our boys came up against a tough Empire Bay," said school soccer coach Mr Dave Rattray.

"The game remained close for most of the match and our boys should be proud of their effort and sportsmanship on the day.

"Unfortunately, the opposing team proved too good, winning the match to progress in the tournament.

"Our girls played in the PSSA Gala Day at Frost Reserve.

"Although the girls played some great soccer and demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship, they were defeated in both games against Avoca and Ettalong.

"The girls showed pleasing resilience and refused to give up, making for an enjoyable day out."
