Parents urged to lead by example
Umina Beach Public School principal Ms Lyn Davis has urged parents to be more aware of the school's neighbours after complaints were made.
In the school's July 25 newsletter, Ms Davis addressed a complaint made by a neighbour that parents were not treating their property with respect.
"I have received a request from a resident living very close to our school," Ms Davis wrote.
"Apparently parents are sitting on their fence waiting for their children, smoking and at times throwing litter into the garden.
"It is important that at all times we model appropriate behaviour to our students and that we maintain good relationships with our neighbours.
"Please assist us by respecting the property of others and disposing of all litter in an appropriate manner," Ms Davis said.
