Store donates bedding to Sea Shepherd
A Umina manchester store has donated $10,000 worth of organic cotton bed linen and towels to a crew aboard an anti-whaling vessel.
Ecodownunder supported the efforts of the Sea Shepherd crew aboard the Steve Irwin and Bob Barker vessels after the crew saved over 800 whales last season alone.
Last summer, the Japanese whalers set a quota to kill 1100 whales after the Japanese Fisheries Agency submitted a request entitled "measures to stabilize the scientific whaling research programme" that requested and received 2.28 billion yen for security to defend the Japanese whaling fleet in the Southern Ocean.
So far, a total of 1918 whales have been saved.
