Rip awareness day
A Rip Current Awareness Day was held at Killcare on Saturday, November 26, by Surf Life Saving NSW.
The day aimed to help people identify rip currents and how to avoid them, primarily by swimming between the red and yellow flags.
Event organisers released a small amount of dye into the ocean to illustrate the flow of a rip current.
To accompany the dye release, a short information session was held for interested members of the public.
