Solicitor donates time
A Umina solicitor will donate her time and expertise for The Salvation Army's Wills Day on Thursday, November 5.
Ms Mary Butcher of Webster and Co will join other local solicitors teaming up with The Salvation Army for a special fundraising project that gives local residents the chance to have their will professionally prepared in return for a $40 donation to charity.
"You might be surprised to learn how many people do not have a legal will," Ms Butcher said.
"If you own assets or have children, it really is essential to have a will to ensure your wishes are carried out and your kids are looked after.
"People really need to consider and possibly amend their will at every life stage - if they enter into marriage, buy a home, have children, or take on a new job - because changes will occur which may make alterations necessary."
The Salvos will provide the service at The Salvation Army centre located at 120 Central Coast Hwy, Erina.
The Wills Day has been initiated by The Salvation Army in an attempt to relieve some of the confusion and anxiety associated with making wills, while raising funds for their extensive work with the needy.
For those who have already made a will, changes or additions may be made on the day.
Bookings must be made by phoning The Salvation Army on 4325 5614.
The Wills Day at The Salvation Army in Erina is part of an ongoing program being run at various Salvation Army centres in NSW.
Funds raised will be given to help support The Salvation Army's ongoing work in the region.
