Franchise asks for community support
A local fast food franchise has asked community groups and businesses to help with its national fundraising effort.
Community volunteers have been encouraged to register their interest in helping to raise funds for Ronald McDonald House Charities by collecting donations with a "bucket brigade" team of their workmates and colleagues at McDonald's Woy Woy.
"I can speak on behalf of everyone at the Woy Woy McDonald's restaurant to say that we are excited about McHappy Day coming up on November 14," restaurant owner Mr John Ursino said.
"Peninsula residents have always been great supporters of Ronald McDonald House and have previously donated generously on McHappy Day.
"We hope to raise over $2.5 million nationally this year and that figure relies on local support, so I encourage everyone to give what they can by either donating online or coming into the restaurant on the day."
The charity operates a learning program, a family retreat program and cord blood bank program.
