Everglades in bowls semis

The James Wall Shield finals were held at Woy Woy recently, with Everglades making it into the semi-finals.

The James Wall Shield competition commenced at The Entrance Bowling Club on May 29 with 42 teams from the Central Coast.

The finals at Woy Woy saw some tight games in the semi-finals with Margaret Saunders, Norma Simmons, Margaret O'Brien and Jan Hiron from The Entrance defeating Carol Allis, Dianne Fernance, Val Smith and Pamela Colbran from Wamberal 28 to 18.

Tess Koutsellis, Margaret Ardill, Gwen Brown and Gwen Hardwick (Terrigal) defeated Fay Croso, Lucy Bryant, Sue O'Connor and Audrey Tucker (Everglades) 21 to 17.

The Terrigal team went on to take both the District and Group shields.
