Australians grew up in the 1980s with Simon Townsend and his children's program Wonder World.

Mr Townsend's path from the Peninsula to the public eye was the subject of the ABC program Talking Heads with Peter Thompson recently.

The Department of Education said there had been no change in its commitment to upgrading Brisbane Water Secondary College campuses.

A spokes woman for the department said a total of only $18.838 million had been allocated to upgrading both Brisbane Water and Tuggerah Lakes campuses, not $10 million each as was claimed by Brisbane Water parents.

Animal liberation activists held a demonstration at Woy Woy against the treatment of production pigs.

Activist Ms Kristi-Anna Brydon said many shoppers were shocked to learn about the treatment of pigs that were slaughtered for sale in supermarkets.
