Book fair postponed until restrictions are eased

The Rotary Club of Woy Woy has postponed its annual book fair planned for the October long weekend.

Club member Mr Vic Brown attended a meeting with Umina Beach PCYC manager Mr Paul Sharpe about the event.

The fair which is held to raise funds for the Umina Beach PCYC was deemed not practical amid the current level of coronavirus restrictions.

Mr Brown said they were concerned over the impact the fair had on normal levels of operation and activities held at the PCYC.

"The result is a postponement until the restrictions free up and the virus threat greatly diminishes," Mr Brown said.

"The good news is that no funds have been spent or committed regarding the book fair, and the used books are safely stored at the PCYC."

He said members of the Rotary club were disappointed the event was postponed but were looking forward to the fair when restrictions were finally eased.
