Umina United to celebrate 40th birthday

Umina United Soccer Club is preparing to celebrate its 40th birthday.

"Umina United Soccer Club was incepted into the Central Coast Football Premier League Competition in 1979 and has since gone on to become, statistically, the most successful club on the Coast," said club vice-president Mr Paul Edwards.

"Umina United acquired pretty much immediate success and went on to become a dominant force on the Central Coast by winning the Men's Premier League First Grade Premiership in 1981, 82, 84, 86, 88, 2000, 2006, 2008, and 2011.

"The Umina United Women's First Grade team have also won their Premier League, taking out the title in 2012 and 2017," Mr Edwards said.

The club has also won the Central Coast Club Championship numerous times, taking out the honour 81, 83, 84, 86, 87, 94, 95, 97, 99, 2000, 2001 and 2002.

According to Mr Edwards, club members are now busily preparing for the milestone anniversary and are planning a historic celebration which will take place at Ettalong Diggers on August 3.

The club committee has invited former and current players, coaches, managers, committee members, canteen and barbecue specialists, volunteers and supporters to join in the festivities.
