Strom Talk for World Environment Day
Central Coast mayor Cr Jane Smith will host the inaugural Strom Talk on World Environment Day.
The talk will celebrate the protection of the natural environment and Coastal Open Space System.
It was named in honour of former Killcare environmentalists Beryl and Allen Strom, who died in 2002 and 1997 respectively.
Among their achievements were the establishment of the Gosford District Historical Research and Heritage Association, Gosford District Environment Foundation and the Association for Environmental Education (Central Coast Branch). They were foundation members of the Killcare Wagstaffe Trust.
Both regularly attended Gosford Council meetings.
Beryl worked on numerous Gosford Council committees and was actively involved in the Gosford Coastal Open Space System.
The Strom Talk will be held on Wednesday, June 5, at the Greenway Chapel, 460 Avoca Dr, Kincumber, from 6pm to 8pm.
The guest speaker will be Dr Glenn A Albrecht, a researcher into the positive and negative psychological, emotional and cultural relationships people have to place in the context of climate change.
