Can Gary Murphy bring councillors into line?
Apart from the forward thinking and positive members of the current Central Coast Councillors, they must be embarrassed by the remaining councillors who are exhibiting their apathy to matters of importance.
The recent dysfunctional Council meeting of May 14 for the Ettalong sand dredging issue is testimony as to how this Council handles a matter of importance.
In addition, the Council had at its opportunity well before the closing date of June 8 to make an application with the State Government's Rescuing Our Waterways 50/50 funding program.
Up until that date no application had been lodged by this indolent Council.
Let us hope the new CEO Mr Gary Murphy will be forthright in bringing the remaining councillors as previously mentioned into line so as matters of importance will be dealt with in a positive manner.
The Liberal State Government knowing the demise in this instance have made available a $250,000 contribution for emergency dredging works.
Good on the Liberal State Government for their immediate action.

Central Coast Mayor, Clr Jane Smith, has confirmed that a compliant Rescuing Our Waterways funding application was lodged by Council by the June 8 deadline and Council is awaiting the NSW Government's response.
