Men of League held at bowling club
The Wednesday morning bowlers at Woy Woy Bowling Club held their annual Men of League Day on Wednesday, September 27, to coincide with the NRL Rugby League Grand Final.
This was also a day to celebrate the memory of Ken McMorrow, a former member of the club and a former first grade half back with Eastern Suburbs as well as captain-coach of Mullumbimby on the NSW North Coast.
The Ken McMorrow trophy was won by Mr Chris Newell, Mr Neil Williams and Mr Mick Burch in a closely contested event held among 70 bowlers.
The Spider was won by Mr Jake O'Dea.
Bowlers were treated to breakfast and lunch.
At the end of the day, a cheque for $700 was handed over to the Men of League to assist with the work the organisation carries out for past rugby league players who have fallen on hard times.
