School takes part in food drive
Umina Beach Public School will be participating in the Mary Mac's Food Drive during the last two weeks of March.
Mary Mac's provides over 400 freshly cooked meals or hampers a week to those in need on the Woy Woy Peninsula.
They also provide free hot showers, bathroom and laundry facilities.
Mary Mac's is does not receive government funding and relies on the generosity of the community.
School principal Ms Lyn Davis encouraged everyone to get involved with the food drive.
A shopping trolley has been placed outside the school's office and will be manned by student leaders.
Donated items can be placed in the trolley each morning before school.
Items being sought include canned foods, packet soups and noodles, diabetic sweets, dried foods, long life products, biscuits, tea and coffee and toiletries.
Cooking ingredients includings oils, salt and flour are wanted, as are cleaning products such as garbage bags and detergent.
