Resident raises $2500 online
Umina resident Ms Julie Cranefield has raised $2500 for the Leukemia Foundation through an online campaign and a Umina fuel outlet.
Ms Cranefield said the foundation held a special place in her heart after her son Jay passed away at age three, due to neuroblastoma.
Ms Cranefield spent 12 months in Westmead Children's Hospital while Jay was receiving treatment.
She said she knew only too well the support that is needed during these times and the funding needed to find a cure for cancer and other acute illnesses.
