Umina man shares in jackpot
A Umina man is part of a syndicate which won $1 million from the $2 million Lotto jackpot on Monday, September 5.
The man, who was unaware of his good fortune until he received a phone call confirming his win from a NSW Lotteries official, shared the win with a 20-share NSW Lotteries network syndicate.
The winner, who at first thought the phone call was a joke, said he was overjoyed with the news.
"It is such a relief to know we can clear any debts we have and help our kids out," he said.
"They are hard workers so we are happy to help them out," said the man, who is in his late 40s.
"I don't think I will buy myself anything special.
"I'm just happy to look after everyone else first."
The winning ticket was purchased from Umina Beach Newsagency.
